What this site collects, and what we do with it.
This site belongs to Vintage Rebel, which is Laura Jesseph and Kelsey McNabb. What follows is the whole of it, in plain words. If anything is unclear, write to us and ask.
If you write to us
The form sends us what you type: your name, your email address, and what you’re working through, plus your company and phone number if you add them. It arrives in our inbox as an email, delivered by a service called Resend, and goes nowhere else. We use it to reply, and we keep it the way we keep any correspondence. We don’t add you to a list. There is no newsletter.
To slow down automated abuse, the site counts how many letters arrive from one internet address within a minute, and keeps nothing beyond that.
Counting visits
We use Google Analytics to count visits: how many people come, when, how far down the page they read, and roughly where they are, by city and country. The location is worked out from the internet address of your connection, which Google does not keep. To tell a returning visitor from a new one, Google sets two cookies in your browser for this site, which last up to two years. Google keeps the detail of each visit for up to fourteen months; our own reports keep only the totals.
We use the counts to understand whether the site is doing its job. We don’t use them for advertising, we don’t link them to Google’s advertising systems, and we don’t sell or share them. Google explains what it does with this data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. If you’d rather not be counted, Google’s opt-out add-on stops it in your browser, and so does most content blocking.
Vercel, which hosts the site, keeps its own count as well: visits and the country they came from, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you. Like any host, it also keeps technical logs of requests for a short time.
What we don’t do
No advertising, no tracking across other sites, no social media buttons that report back, and no selling of anything about you. The fonts, pictures and films on this site are served from the site itself, so apart from the count above, loading it tells no one else you were here.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, and we will. The form is the quickest way to reach us, or reply to any email from us.
